Suspect in child's sexual assault arrested
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The search for fugitive Rexhep Rraci has come to an end. Rraci, who was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a 9-year-old boy, has been found and arrested. He is also a person of interest in a separate sexual assault of a 14-year-old female jogger in The Woodlands. He is scheduled to be taken to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday afternoon.
Conroe police secured an arrest warrant for Rraci on Nov. 18, 2015. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and representatives of the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force began investigating Rraci. The investigation led to finding him in Pristina, the capital city of Kosovo.
Rraci was taken into custody in Kosovo and extradited back to the U.S. where the U.S. Marshals Service detained him and brought him to New Jersey. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT took custody of Rraci in New Jersey and returned him to Montgomery County on Wednesday.
