Shooting leaves one dead, one injured in east Houston

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston police are investigating a double shooting that left one person dead in east Houston.

It happened near Federal and Market, one man was shot and killed and the other shot and survived, he was rushed to the hospital.

The man who survived is telling investigators that three men approached them,  they opened fire on them and attempted to rob them.

At this point investigators are not sure if the suspects were able to get away with any money or cell phones. Houston police say the men were headed to a cantina.

“We believe that the 2 victims were stopping by to shoot some pool and were targeted by three suspects We don’t know if they were from inside the club or … apparently they ate at another location  We haven’t determined the connection”

The investigators are backtracking the victims’ evening and trying to figure out where they went. They had dinner somewhere else and then stopped at the cantina. Hopefully, once police figure out what the victims did that will lead them to the suspects.

Houston police have not released the identity of the man who was shot and killed. They are waiting to contact the family first.
