Possible shooting suspect falls to his death at University of Houston Downtown, HPD says

Police are investigating after they say a shooting suspect fell to his death at the University of Houston Downtown campus.

Authorities say the incident happened on Sunday at around 7:15 p.m.

According to HPD, the man was flashing a gun and possibly shooting at people. Officers said they ordered the man not to move, but he took off west on the train platform.

Officers lost sight of the suspect and searched the campus to try and find him. Surveillance video allegedly shows the suspect running across a breezeway on campus, trying to jump over the railing.

According to officers, surveillance video shows that the suspect tried to lower himself down from the railing, but appeared to not realize how far the fall was. He died from his injury.

FOX 26 will provide more details as they become available.
