Mourning crowd sings hymns as Notre Dame Cathedral burns

PARIS - A mourning crowd sang hymns in Paris’ Place Saint-Michel as a fire damaged the historic Notre Dame Cathedral Monday, causing its roof and main spire to collapse.

Video shows the crowd singing to honor the 850-year-old historical church.

Firefighters said the fire was possibly related to renovation work on the building.

Kazuki, who uploaded the video, said the area had a “very sacred atmosphere.”
