Man shot, killed in Texas City home invasion

Police say 47-year-old Albert Diego Irvin was shot and killed on Monday night after two men broke into his home and threatened him with a gun.

Officers say the men ransacked his home, searching for valuables and cash. Two other people were in the home, but they survived.

Irvin was taken to an area hospital where he died. He is survived by his wife and three children. He also has two brothers that say they will never forget him.

"They took a loving man, brother, father, friend, from a good family and if it's within their heart of hearts to do what's right, I would ask for them to please turn themselves in, so this family can have some sort of peace," says Michael Ford, Irvin's brother.

His other brother, Mydrich Ford, says he feels lost without him.

“I’m not going to get to see him again, we go to the Lamar football games, we be sitting out there watching the football games and stuff," adds Mydrich. "I might want to go out there and watch the football games and might think he there and he might not be there anymore."

Texas City police ask anyone that may have knowledge on who committed this crime to please contact them or submit any information anonymously by contacting Mainland Communities Crime Stoppers by phone at 409-945-8477.
