Man says he found marijuana in fast-food bag

It was just another normal Friday night for the Norris family, enjoying their evening together at home. At around 6 p.m. Friday, Terrance Norris decided to go through the McDonald's drive-thru on Barker Cypress Road to pick up dinner for his family.

“I got home, put the box on the table and then I went upstairs,” says Terrance.

“As soon as I opened it, there was marijuana sitting right on the top inside of a sandwich bag, right on top of the food," says Terrance's wife Charlene. "I immediately screamed for him and was like, 'Babe, come here! Come see what’s going on!”

“And then the next thing I know, my wife, she’s like, 'Babe!,' and I was like, 'What?,' and she said, 'Hey, what is this?,' and I said, 'That’s the food I bought,' and she said, 'No, what is this,' and so I was like, I came downstairs and then she’s like, 'This right here,' and I was like, 'Oh my God!'"

Inside, they say they found a bag of marijuana and decided to snap a picture of it before calling the McDonald's location to complain. Norris says the manager asked him to come up to the restaurant to discuss what happened.

"He tells me that he gave my food to somebody else that was at the counter and then they gave that food back to me and so the first question I asked was, 'So why would you give food to somebody else that they opened and give it back to me?,' because then initial reason he said was the burgers that they had were plain and they ordered plain burgers and so they gave that back to me and I was like, 'That’s cross contamination, why would you give that back to me?'”

Terrance says the manager at the restaurant did give them a refund and a new meal, but that he is still uncertain as to exactly how the marijuana got in his food.

"We called the police, we called the officers, we had someone come out and pick it up because we did not want that on our hands,” adds Charlene.
