Lynching memorial opens in Alabama

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, which opened in Alabama in 2018, features the names of more than 4,000 men and women who lost their lives to lynching between 1877 and 1950.

The non-profit organization Equal Justice Initiative says it is the nation's first comprehensive memorial dedicated to racial terror such as lynchings. African American and racial inequality in the U.S. There is talk of a similar monument coming to Houston.
