Law enforcement officer struck by vehicle in west Houston

Police say a law enforcement officer that was struck by a vehicle in west Houston will be okay.

It happened around 5:20 p.m. in a parking lot in the 9700 block of Katy Freeway.

According to police, a law enforcement officer working an extra job was struck by the vehicle of a fleeing suspected shoplifter.

Police say the deputy sustained some minor injuries but will be okay.
