Houston woman's family pleads for suspect arrest after her murder

The family of Kennia Guardado Molina, a 27-year-old woman from Honduras who was killed in Houston, is speaking out as the suspect remains on the run.

Charged with murder, Camilo Ayala, 26, is also wanted for a separate sexual assault. Videos circulating on social media suggest Ayala is currently in Mexico.

What we know:

Houston police have charged Ayala with murder, but he has yet to be apprehended. Ayala is also accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a club in the summer of 2024.

Guardado Molina family demands justice for Kennia Guardado Molina

What they're saying:

"It's very difficult, very difficult. Every day, we think about it," said her sister, Yolanda Guardado Molina. As for Ayala's active social media presence, alluding to his presence in Mexico, the Guardado Molina family said they're speechless. "He’s living his life as if nothing has happened," Yolanda said. "He can continue to live life and do the same thing to someone else."

The family was able to have Kennia's body repatriated to Honduras after receiving help from the state of Texas.

Kennia was a mother and loved her family. She was from Honduras and immigrated to the United States in 2019.

Reward of up to $5,000 is being offered

What you can do:

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Camilo Ayala, or in this case, is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Houston police and Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Ayala's arrest. Authorities confirm that those in Mexico are eligible for the reward.
