The Houston Police Department and homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death at an inn in southwest Houston.

Investigators responded to a call involving a disturbance between two males at the Fondren Inn at 13255 Fondren Rd. at 6:08 pm Tuesday. Originally, Houston police were responding to a suicide overdose call but after investigating, they found that was not the case.

Police say a woman and a man in his mid-forties were together in one of the rooms, when a third person, a man in his thirties, showed up, and got into an argument with the other man.

One male was later found unresponsive outside the manager's office, and was transported to St. Luke's hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD had initially said that they believe the death resulted from a strangulation incident, but police did not want to confirm that until after the autopsy.

The other man and woman have been taken into custody and are being questioned in connection to the case.

An autopsy is pending, and the cause of death will be ruled pending those results.
