Houston teen who started a cosmetics company now has products sold in 2 stores nationwide

One Houston boss, who's barely out of her teens, has a lot to celebrate. Her cosmetics company is so successful, her products are now being sold in a couple of stores nationwide.

What we know:

Allow us to introduce you to Boss Up Cosmetics owner Aaliyah Arnold, who's only 20-years-old. We caught up with her at her Houston headquarters, which is covered in all things pink. So, there was no need to ask her favorite color.

"I always tell people it's black. Can you tell? I'm very much a pink girl. I'm a girly girl," the 20-year-old CEO smiles.

"I started this company when I was 14, but before this, I had a slime business when I was 11 years old. (So, you're a late starter, huh?) Yeah," Aaliyah answers with a laugh.

Where is Boss Up Sold:

"You can find my cosmetics on my TikTok shop or my website, but we have recently just launched in all TJ Maxx and Marshalls locations in the United States. I'm so excited," says Aaliyah.

The backstory:

"I started it in my grandmother's living room, and it has grown so much. About three years after I launched, my mom quit her job and she started working for me. Last year, the company completely blew up. It went out of this world viral. My color changing lip fluid, a clear lip fluid that turns pink when it comes in contact with your skin. It changes based off your pH. That went absolutely viral, and it has caused us to get this amazing warehouse and employ so many of my family members," Aaliyah explainsed. "We make all of our products ourselves in-house in the warehouse. We ship them all ourselves. We just got a laboratory too."

"My dream is to be in stores, like Ulta and Sephora. So, my mentality is, I want packaging that stands out, something that isn't on all the other brand's boxes. I want something that's very unique. So I thought of doing artwork," Aaliyah says, describing the stunning packaging her cosmetics are sold in.

Boss Up lip product shades include, "All of my lip glosses and lip oils have to do with women empowerment. So, we have Bossy, CEO. One's called Self-Made."

You can find Aaliyah and Boss Up Cosmetics on all social media platforms. In addition to make-up, she also sells apparel. One super cute hoodie reads "She is enough" on the front with a drawing of a woman, and "You are enough" written on the back.

What's her advice or encouragement to another youngster who would like to launch a business?

"My key tip is, be patient. Be consistent. If you have the Lord on your side, anything is possible," Aaliyah answers.
