According to police, the suspect left the vehicle, ran through the complex's courtyard, then started shooting at the officers. Officials say the suspect didn't obey verbal commands to drop the weapon and five officers started firing back.

Police say the suspect was arrested and taken to a hospital for his critical injuries.

Body camera footage of this incident is expected to be released within the next month.

What we don't know:

The suspect has not been named at this time.

It's not clear if any victims of the alleged crime spree were hurt.
