A man is wanted by Houston police in connection to a stabbing incident that left a woman critically injured last year.

What we know:

Police say 27-year-old Claude Clifford McKoy has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for a stabbing incident that happened on September 28, 2024. 

Investigators allegedly found evidence that identified McKoy as the suspect. He was charged and a warrant was issued for his arrest on January 16, 2025.

The backstory:

According to police, the incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. on September 28 at an apartment complex on Lockfield Street.

Officers were responding to a shooting call at the complex and saw paramedics giving first aid to a woman in the parking lot.

Police say the woman was not shot, but she had suffered "major lacerations and stab wounds throughout her upper and lower body." She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The suspect left the scene before the police arrived.

What we don't know:

Police have not identified the woman who was stabbed and there is no update on her recovery.
