Hernando couple allegedly robbed 11-year-old girl

An 11-year-old girl described the scary moments she was robbed by a man and woman in Brooksville.

The young girl told FOX 13 she's glad that the suspects are now behind bars.

"I'm learning about karma too," Arianna Joyner said.

Joyner had just purchased snacks at a Dollar General store when the suspects approached her outside.

"(They said) quote, 'Give me everything you have,'" said Denise Moloney, with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

"(She) took $5 out my hand," Joyner said.

After the couple allegedly robbed Joyner, she called her grandfather, who then called 911.

When deputies arrived, they confronted the suspects, Courtney Barter and Nate Prater.

"They pretty much admitted to it before they had to do any real investigating," said Moloney.

Barter and Prater were both charged with robbery. Deputies said they found a meth pipe on Prater.
