Heart attack survivor thanks first responders who saved his life

A big “thank you" today from a man whose life was saved by members of the Houston Fire Department.

It was a few days before Thanksgiving Day when Gary Taylor called 911 about chest pains. Houston Fire Department emergency medical technicians and paramedics had to use a defibrillator to restart his heart on the way to the hospital.

Well, Mr. Taylor got to meet the people who saved him today at Houston Fire Station 6, and actually apologized for cursing at them during his heart attack.

Surgeons put a stent in Mr. Taylor's heart. Mr. Taylor says he's had other health emergencies since the heart attack, and he praised our city's fire department for their care and professionalism.
