Florida police officer ticketed for high-speed crash during chase
(STORYFUL) - A Florida police officer was ticketed after he crashed into another vehicle at 90 miles per hour during a chase earlier this month.
The Florida Highway Patrol released video on Wednesday, May 19, of the crash in Ocoee that involved Officer Chris Bonner, who was cited for failing to obey traffic laws, according to local media.
The video shows the police vehicle travel through a red light at a high rate of speed, striking a second car.
Bonner suffered multiple broken bones, according to the report, and the second driver, Yahaira Castro Montalvo, suffered two broken arms, according to local reports. She is planning a lawsuit.
The Ocoee Police Department said Bonner was participating in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle driven by suspects in an armed robbery.
The department also said Bonner will need several surgeries to recover from his injuries and is raising money to assist him and his family.
