Family of 29-year-old church choir director desperate for answers in his death
FRESNO, Texas (FOX 26) — From the time he was a boy, Isiah Swearington loved church and playing the piano. His family says Isiah was recently feeding the homeless.
Now, a homeless man seen in a surveillance photo getting out of Isiah's car is a person of interest in his death.
"No one deserves to be dumped on the side of the road," said Isiah's stepmother Lisa Swearington. "Had it been another situation I could understand but when you just throw someone in the area as if they were trash I have a problem with that."
"The guy that's on the surveillance picture is a homeless guy and he lives in the wooded area in the vicinity where the body was found," said Isiah's father Robert Swearington.
The family believes another man could be involved in Isiah's death and relatives are pleading for help from the public.
"I would say look inside and just imagine if it were your child," added Robert. "What would you do? How would you react? What type of help would you seek?"
"We just need justice for Isiah," added Lisa. "We just want closure for the family."
"The chapter isn't closed yet until we get an arrest."
Isiah's body was found in a field in the 14400 block of Nelson Street in southwest Houston.
Anyone with any information about Isiah's death should contact the Houston Police Department homicide division or community activist Quanell X on Facebook.
