Chase ends when suspect's vehicle crashes into command station

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A violent chain of events ends with a vehicle crashing into the Westside Command Station and Municipal Courts building entrance on South Dairy Ashford near Richmond Avenue in west Houston.

Police say that at around 9:30 p.m. Friday, a male attacked his girlfriend at an apartment complex on Overbrook Lane near Shadowview Lane and told her he was going to kill his father. After he left, she contacted 911.

Houston Police Department officers arrived to the home of the male's father's where the male had set the house on fire. When officers saw the male, he jumped into his vehicle and drove away, leading officers on a chase. 

After the male crashed the vehicle into the substation, he was taken into police custody. The male sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. His girlfriend was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

No one was injured inside the police substation.

The male's father was not hurt, but his home was left with extensive fire damage in the rear bedrooms.
