Emergency crews in Dickinson are working to restore power after a truck crashed into a utility pole and ruptured a gas line.

The accident happened around 1:30 Wednesday morning on the 3100 block of Dickinson Avenue.

Dickinson police found the truck upside down and engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene.

After a few hours, fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, which closed traffic on Dickinson Avenue.

Witnesses say there were two people in the truck that flipped over, but authorities have not been able to confirm that.

Texas New Mexico Power Company and Centerpoint Energy are on the scene and have restored power to the majority of affected customers in the area.
