Brookshire volunteer firefighters deliver meals to families in need on Christmas Day

BROOKSHIRE, Texas (FOX 26) — The Brookshire Volunteer Fire Department took time during Christmas Day to make sure that families in need were provided with a hot meal. The first responders delivered 200 dinners on Tuesday, at a time when many families in one community lost so much in a fire on Dec. 20.

For one woman who lives in that community, she is not only dealing with damage to her home from the fire, but her truck was also destroyed when that fire spread.

"People just come out of the woodwork out here to help us and we're just returning the favor," says Mark Rodriguez with the Brookshire VFD.
