Authorities search for inmate released out of Montgomery County Jail by mistake

CONROE, Texas (FOX 26) — Deputies are conducting a search for an inmate who they released from Montgomery County Jail by mistake on Wednesday night.

Authorities say a clerical error caused the mix-up and the inmate was released from Montgomery County Jail in place of another inmate with the same last name.

Edward Manning, 30, was released from jail at around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday on a personal recognizance bond. However, the name of the inmate that was supposed to be released was Jeffrey Manning.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies stated that they have made contact with Edward to turn himself in, but he has refused.

Law enforcement officers are now searching for Edward Manning, who was originally arrested on a felony assault - family violence charge. If you have any information on where he can be found, please contact MCSO by phone at 936-760-5800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867.
