Armored vehicle employee robbed while servicing ATM in east Harris County

An armored vehicle employee was robbed while servicing an ATM at a Chase bank location in east Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff's Office says.

Deputies say the Brinks employee had just finished servicing a machine at the Chase bank off Wallisville Road around 3:40 p.m. Thursday when a suspect approached her with a gun and demanded money. The employee dropped the money and the suspect got into a truck driven by someone else, HCSO says. Another Brinks employee in the armored truck saw what happened and decided to ram the truck, causing on of the suspects to get out and fire shots, deputies say. No injuries were reported.

According to deputies, the suspects' vehicle broke down a block away and they then carjacked another vehicle.

Deputies say three to four suspects got away in a 2014 blue Chevy Silverado. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
