Mother of bicyclist killed during hit-and-run on Airtex, Brundage Drive speaks out
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - The mother of 35-year-old Adrian Johnson is speaking out after her son was killed nearly a week ago during a hit-and-run in North Harris County.
Stephanie Hardy says she is lost, hurt and angry about what happened to her son.
"I feel so empty it’s just so senseless, and I can’t make sense of it," said Hardy. "He was on his way to work. He lived in the apartment right behind where the accident was, five minutes. Within 2 minutes of him leaving the house, this happened. I cannot describe the pain that I am feeling."

Johnson was hit while riding his bike and left near Airtex Boulevard and Brundage Drive.
Authorities say 22-year-old Nyla Gamboa is now charged with failing to stop and render aid.
They add the SUV she was driving was damaged so badly, she had to bail about a mile away because her tires were shredded.
"I know my son was careful. I know it. We talk about it, and talk about it," Hardy said. "I don’t understand how you can do this to somebody, not call for help but call for a ride for you, and you try to get out of the city and my son is laying in the ground."

Gamboa was arrested the same day she was accused of hitting Johnson, by Harris County Constables Precinct 4.
They say she was attempting to board an out-of state flight at Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Hardy says now, she just wants justice.
"[Hes’s} So sweet and loving and smart. Oh my god, just a genuine standup guy, that’s who he was, ‘ Hardy said, "She should go to jail, she did the crime. She should serve time for it."
