20-year-old man killed while at his brother's Harris County home alone
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Harris County sheriff's deputies say a man was found shot to death inside his brother's home, where he lived, Thursday night.
It happened just before 11:25 p.m. on Kings Lake Forest Drive near North Lake Houston Parkway in northeast Harris County.
Deputies say the victim was alone after the brother and his wife went to the hospital earlier that night for another reason.
While at the home, the victim thought someone was trying to break in, so he called his brother, who told him to call 911.
When deputies arrived, they found a broken window in the backyard and all of the doors locked.
They waited for the brother to get home from the hospital, and that's when they found the victim shot to death.
"As far as we can tell the house was dark," said HCSO Sgt. Ben Beall. "So the suspects may have seen the ambulance leave and another family member leave and thought that nobody was in the house but they made forced forced entry into the house, and he was shot once."
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Francisco Orozco.
Deputies don’t have information on a possible suspect, but are combing the neighborhood for surveillance footage.
If anyone has any information regarding the murder of Orozco, they are asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or they may call Crime Stoppers at 713.222.TIPS
