12 children died in U.S. after left in hot vehicles

It's almost summertime in the Houston area and record high temperatures have already been recorded. The heat also bears a reminder not to forget or leave children inside hot vehicles.

Twelve children have already died from being left in hot vehicles in the U.S. in 2018. One of those children died in Baytown.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez gathered with community leaders and Got Child? Inc. to remind the public about the dangers of leaving children in hot vehicles. Law enforcement agencies are even offering free rear mirror hang tags as a reminder to parents to check the back seat!

Sheriff Gonzalez says that if you see a child left in a parked vehicle to contact 911.
