Anyone with open Harris County Pct. 2 & 8 warrants can 'Make It Right!'

"Instead of going to court, they come to church." That is how Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson describes the Make It Right! event.

The program is scheduled to take place from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Sagemont Church on 11300 South Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston, TX 77089. Representatives from the Harris County Public Defender's Office and Harris County Constable's Office Precincts 2 and 8 will be in attendance at the event.

Residents with outstanding unresolved Class C warrants or pending cases for low-level, nonviolent misdemeanor offenses in Harris County Precinct 2 and Precinct 8 will be able to settle the matters without having to owe any fees or appear in court.

Participants in the event will also have the opportunity to receive free legal advice from volunteer defense lawyers (including landlord/tenant issues, immigration, child support, civil rights and other matters), attend a career resource fair with job training and learn about educational opportunities. Several Houston-area food truck vendors will be parked outside the church.
