AVIATION...

SCT/BKN CLOUDS WITH BASES AROUND 2 KFT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID-

MORNING BEFORE DISSIPATING. SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL CONTINUE WITH

SPEEDS AROUND 10-15 KNOTS. ANOTHER ROUND OF MVFR STRATUS IS LIKELY

TONIGHT AT THE I-35 TAF SITES.

PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 309 AM CDT WED JUL 15 2015/

SHORT TERM (TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY)...

HOT AND DRY. THAT SUMS UP THE FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 7 DAYS AND

BEYOND.

NO RAIN IS EXPECTED AS HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS CENTERED OVER EASTERN

TEXAS. THE RIDGE EXTENDS NORTHWARD INTO THE PLAINS. THIS WILL KEEP

OUR AREA IN THE TYPICAL SUMMER TIME PATTERN OF BRIEF MORNING LOW

CLOUDS GIVING WAY TO A MOSTLY SUNNY AND HOT AFTERNOON. SINKING AIR

UNDERNEATH THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL ALLOW FOR HIGH TEMPERATURES

ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY...I-35 CORRIDOR...AND COASTAL PLAINS TO

REMAIN IN THE MID 90S. ACROSS THE RIO GRANDE PLAINS UPPER 90S TO

NEAR THE CENTURY MARK IS EXPECTED. DECENT DEWPOINTS DUE TO THE

SOUTHEAST WINDS SUSTAINING THE FLOW OF GULF MOISTURE INTO TEXAS

WILL KEEP OVERNIGHT LOWS ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA IN THE MID 70S.

LONG TERM (THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY)...

THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL SHIFT SLIGHTLY EASTWARD LATE IN THE WEEK

INTO THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES OVER SOUTH CENTRAL

TEXAS TO BEGIN A SLOW WARM UP. BY EARLY NEXT WEEK THE RIO GRANDE

PLAINS SHOULD HAVE HIT 100 DEGREES...WITH THE I-35 CORRIDOR

FLIRTING WITH THE CENTURY MARK MONDAY AND TUESDAY. EVEN WITH A

BETTER SOUTHEAST FLOW DUE TO THE POSITION OF THE HIGH STILL NOT

EXPECTING ANY PRECIPITATION ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS. BY

TUESDAY THE HIGH SHIFTS BACK OVER CENTRAL TEXAS ALLOWING

TEMPERATURES TO "COOL" BY A DEGREE OR TWO. DESPITE THE RIDGE

FLATTENING A BIT THE GFS AND ECMWF KEEP IT OVER TEXAS THROUGH AT

LEAST THE NEXT 10 DAYS. AFTER A SLOW AND VERY WET START TO THE

SUMMER IN MAY AND JUNE IT APPEARS THAT THE TEXAS SUMMER HAS

ARRIVED.
