The National Hurricane Center continues to watch a poorly defined tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic. There is a chance it becomes a tropical depression later in the week but lots of different ideas of where it would go.

Rain chances are down and humidity is way, way up! It's going to be a sweltering week with highs in the mid 90s, but heat index values of at least 105 and probably higher at times. As far as rain, there is a chance for a couple of storms this afternoon with lower chances by mid-week. We should notice a haze in the sky tomorrow and Wednesday with a plume of Saharan dust moving in, and it's probably the thickest of the summer so far. Otherwise, with low pressure moving out and high pressure taking hold this week, expect a super steamy week. In the tropics, there is a poorly defined tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic that has a chance of becoming a tropical depression later this week. It is very far from Texas and, so far, doesn't look like a big deal. It's a reminder that tropical activity is going to pick up big time over the next few weeks.

Disturbed weather over the central tropical Atlantic is expected to join with a tropical wave and could form into a tropical depression this week. Environmental conditions will encourage development over the northern Leeward Islands, Greater Antilles, or southwestern Atlantic Ocean.

Southeast Texas is waking up to another round of rain and storms. Isolated flooding is possible in poor drainage areas. A big change in our weather pattern begins on Monday. Much drier air arrives bringing an increase in temperatures. Highs will be back to the mid-90s next week. An area of disturbed weather over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. Chances are still low for tropical development but it is the first sign of the Atlantic Basin starting to become more active for August.

The Flood Watch has ended for now across Southeast Texas. Expect more rain for Sunday morning with some heavy downpours possible closer to the coast. Another brief round of storms could also arrive in the afternoon on Sunday. But the pattern overall is changing with less rain in the week ahead.

Consecutive weather disasters have taken a toll on a northeast Houston man with the latest round of storms causing his ceiling to collapse. FOX 26's Jade Flury has more after speaking with the man whose kitchen has become unusable.

The flood threat continues across SE Texas today. There is a Flood Watch in effect until 1pm. Make sure you clear the storm drains in your neighborhood to help prevent flooded roadways. An additional 1-3?+ is possible today as several round of heavy rain will move from south to north across the viewing area. Rain chances stay elevated on Sunday but they will drop early next week as a big pattern change arrives. Houston will be hot and humid beginning on Monday with highs back to the 90s.
