This morning's temperatures reached the lowest levels of this entire year so far, but changes are on the way. Look for a mostly sunny afternoon today with highs in the low 60s. Rain makes a return tonight and Wednesday with a quick-moving cold front, so watch for scattered storms and likely showers. Beyond that system, we'll enter a stretch of sunny and dry days with chilly overnight lows and pleasantly cool afternoons.

A freeze warning is in effect from midnight to 8am tonight as temperatures could be the coldest since last February. The rest of the week, the first week of December, looks overall pretty chilly. Expect one chance for chilly rain early Wednesday. Otherwise, this week looks mostly sunny and cool with lows in the 30s and 40s and highs in the 50s and 60s.

The forecast remains on track with showers persisting around Houston until early Sunday morning. Then cold air will push its way into Southeast Texas escorting the rain out of the area. We are left with a windy and chilly Sunday afternoon. More cold air continues to move in with Tuesday morning seeing near freezing temperatures. It will be our coldest stretch of the season.

Houston is not done with the rain. We should continue to see more periods of heavy rain through Saturday evening. The rainfall totals will be 4-6" on the high end, so still manageable for most of the area. Look for slightly higher chances near the coast. A strong cold front blows through early Sunday and leaves us with a breezy chilly afternoon. Next week will be much cooler than the temperatures we've seen so far this Fall.

Much needed rain will begin with scattered showers Thursday night and a few rounds of heavy rain will persist through Saturday evening. A strong front blows all the rain out on Sunday and brings winter-like temps to Southeast Texas for the start of December.

Following morning rain, our weather will clear out nicely and humidity will drop quite a bit by the afternoon. Highs should reach the low 70s. Thanksgiving Day is shaping up nicely, but much needed rain will move in Friday and Saturday. This could be the first significant rain for our area in two months. Next week looks very chilly.

Many locations, outside of Houston, are waking up to temperatures warmer than what we saw on Monday. Expect a mild day, areawide, with a south breeze ushering in the mild weather. It won't last long, though, as a cold front is set to move through early Wednesday morning. Rain will be possible as that front pushes across the area, but a stronger one is set to arrive Friday. Thanksgiving falls between these two fronts and will therefore be a dry and mild day. Rain chances increase as we head into the evening on Thanksgiving. Measurable rainfall is likely, especially Friday into Saturday.
