Houston Weather: Excessive Heat Warning continues but some relief in middle of the week
video

Our Excessive Heat Warning continues once again through Monday Evening. Be safe for all outdoor Father's Day and Juneteenth plans, and if you must be outdoors during the hottest part of the day take breaks often in the shade/AC & stay hydrated! The pattern starts to break up some by midweek, temporarily taking a slight edge of the temperatures and working in at least some showers. With high probabilities, we will soon have "Bret" in the open Atlantic.

Houston weather: Partly cloudy, sunny Saturday evening, excessive heat warning extended
video

The Excessive Heat Warning has been extended and expanded for Southeast Texas. Dangerous heat can be expected through Sunday afternoon. Triple digits remain in the forecast for Houston until midweek when the ridge of high pressure finally weakens. Be safe with all your outdoor activities this weekend celebrating Father's Day and Juneteenth.

Houston Weather: Scorching heatwave continues into Juneteenth Weekend
video

Dangerous heat continues into the weekend, with our Excessive Heat Warning being both extended and expanded to cover more of our viewing area through at least 8 p.m. Sunday now. Regardless of what the actual temperatures on the thermometers reach, the dangers lie in the feels-like values that have been significantly higher. Strong Storms riding the top of the ridge/heat dome may clip the far northern extent of our viewing area the next few nights but for most of us rain will be hard to come by until the end of the week. There is hope in sight, though... as the ridge flattens out it looks to take at least a slight edge off the temperatures.

Houston weather: Excessive heat warning continues through Saturday
video

An Excessive Heat Warning now blankets most of our area through at least 8pm Saturday, with a Heat Advisory in effect during the same timeframe along the immediate coastline and Galveston Bay. Feels like values could approach as high as 117 in some spots, with gusty south winds creating dangerous rip current concerns. Extreme caution will be needed for any outdoor activities through Father's Day and Juneteenth. Rain chances are pretty slim, but we can't rule out a stray shower or storm with a stalled out front just to the north of us.

Houston weather: Brutal heat continues across the area, excessive heat watch in effect
video

Dangerous heatwave will stick around the rest of this week as potentially record breaking heat rolls in. In fact, new record high temperatures could be set Friday and Saturday as many areas climb to triple digits. Humidity will also remain high and heat index values could soar to 113 or higher for parts of the area. For that reason, the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch for SE Texas from 11 AM Friday until 8 PM Saturday. This could be upgraded to an Excessive Heat Warning for the next few days. That means heat precautions are needed like drinking lots of water & trying to stay inside in the AC. Also try to wear light, loose clothing & avoid being outside during the hottest part of the day. Stretch of triple digit temperatures will continue through much of next week with no relief in sight. Storm track will remain to our north so that will mean little to no rain. Grab our FOX 26 weather app to keep track of the hot weather!
