Stay safe in the heat the best you can by drinking lots of water, avoiding strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day and finding a cooling center if you have issues with your AC. Expect record heat Thursday for Houston with high temperatures near 105 and heat index values 110+. Heat Advisory is in effect for the Houston area until 10 PM tonight. But that gets upgraded to an excessive heat warning 10 AM - 10 PM Thursday. 100-degree heat should stick around through early next week with temperatures a bit less hot and better rain chances by Tuesday and Wednesday.
