UH gets verbal commitment from power forward in Northeast Conference

The University of Houston lands 6-7 power forward Nura Zanna from Long Island University in Brooklyn.

Zanna, a fifth-year graduate transfer, said he committed to the Cougars over a number of schools, including Penn State, Clemson and UMass.

“This weekend I went to Houston,” Zanna said. “I liked it. I feel like I’m home. I feel like this is the place for me.

“I’m going to give them what they want, on the court, off the court. They treat me like family.”

During the 2016-17 season Zanna averaged 9.2 points and 8.7 rebounds, while getting 16 double-doubles in Northeast Conference play.
