Prairie View A&M will name Dooley as head football coach

Prairie View A&M will name Eric Dooley, Grambling State's offensive coordinator and receivers coach, as the Panthers new head coach, according to college football sources.

Dooley will be introduced Friday morning on the Prairie View A&M campus.

Sources told FOX 26 Sports Dooley will get a four-year contract.

He will replace Willie Simmons who left the Panthers to become the new head coach at Florida A&M.

Prairie View A&M athletics director Ashley Robinson has not been available for comment.

Dooley joins Prairie View after four years at Grambling State, 14 years at Southern and three years at Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Dooley helped lead Grambling State to three consecutive SWAC Championship Games, back-to-back SWAC titles, and the HBCU National Championship in 2016.

According to Grambling's website, prior to joining the Tigers Dooley helped coach teams that won five SWAC championships, four Black College National Championships and one HBCU championship.
