Boston Red Sox defeat Houston Astros 8-2 in ALCS Game 3

The Red Sox started an early offensive flurry when Mookie Betts hit a single against Dallas Keuchel to start the game. Betts would later score on a J.D. Martinez double to give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead. Andrew Benintendi scored on a Xander Bogaerts ground ball, extending the Red Sox lead to 2-0 in the first inning.

Marwin Gonzalez cut the Red Sox lead down to 2-1 in the bottom of the first inning with a two-out RBI hit.

Bregman hit a double that drove home Altuve, tying the game at 2-2.

Steve Pearce hit a solo home run off Joe Smith into the Crawford Boxes to give the Red Sox a 3-2. Smith was replaced by Tony Sipp in the 6th inning.

Roberto Osuna hit Mitch Moreland with a pitch to bring home Pearce, which gave the Red Sox a 4-2 lead. With the bases loaded, Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a grand slam to extend the Red Sox lead to 8-2, which would be the final score.
