HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston Texans linebacker Whitney Mercilus was all smiles and it had nothing to do with the team's six-game win streak. Mercilus hosted his annual fundraising event Dine WithMerci at The Ballroom at Bayou Place. The event is to help tackles the cause of cerebral palsy.

WithMerci Foundation provides advocate services and support to families of children with disabilities and special needs. The foundation has raised more than $250,000 since its inception to support organizations serving children with special needs

Mercilus was joined at the event by Alex, one of his best buddies, with a smile that brings life to any room that he walks in.

For the 2018 event, Mercilus recognized Houston philanthropists including Houston Texans Ring of Honor inductee Andre Johnson and original Texans roster member Chester Pitts.
