Video shows forest floor 'breathing'

Video, taken in a wooded area simlilar to this one, shows what looks like a forest floor 'breathing.'

Amazing video shot in Nova Scotia shows what looks like a forest floor ‘breathing.’

The video was shot by Brian Nuttall on October 30 in Apple River, Cumberland County.

According to an online report by CBC News, the phenomenon that makes the ground move is the result of a detached root system. When the trees above sway in the wind, the roots that have detached heave in and out and appear to 'breathe.'

Eventually, the trees will topple over, the article said. But at least we have video while it lasts!
