Trump administration considers drug testing for food stamps

President Trump today signed an executive order that would allow states to require mandatory drug testing for some food stamp recipients.

An official briefed on the plan says the plan would be applied mostly to people who are able-bodied, without dependents and seeking some specialized jobs.

It would only affect about 5 percent of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program participants.
