HOUSTON - In early morning news out of southwest Houston, suspects have been taken into police custody after investigators say they opened fire on Houston Police Department officers.
Houston police detectives are still on the scene of a nightclub where some of their fellow officers exchanged gunfire early this morning in the 6400 block of Hillcroft at Sandspoint. The officers were not hurt and It is not clear why they were called to the club in the first place.
Child Protective Services are looking into the case of a woman who investigators say left two children behind at a Houston fire department. They are trying to determine if she actually abandoned the four-year-old and nine-month-old children Monday afternoon. It’s not clear if the woman is the children's mother.
The makeshift memorial for murdered Harris County Sheriff's Office Deputy Darren Goforth has been moved. It’s being relocated to another corner of the Chevron fuel station property in Cypress where Goforth was ambushed and executed more than a week ago. The owner of the gas station says there will be a permanent memorial for his friend at the corner.
Police in Nepal say, they're searching a river where the body of a teacher from Austin was thrown after she was hammered to death. Police were searching the Seti River for the body of Dahlia Yehia.
She disappeared from the resort town of Pokhara in western Nepal last month.
Authorities arrested a local teacher, who they say, has admitted to the killing.
