Texas attorney general Ken Paxton has made his first campaign appearance since being indicted on securities fraud charges. The republican was joined by presidential hopeful Ted Cruz. Last week, Paxton pled not guilty to two counts of securities fraud over allegations he deceived investors in a tech startup that compensated him for recruiting new shareholders.

 

 

Same-sex couples plan to return to the Rowan county courthouse in Kentucky today for the fifth time since June to ask for a marriage license. This time  Kim Davis won't be there to stop them. The county clerk remains in a jail cell for refusing to obey a judge's order that she issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

 Good news if you plan on hitting the open road this holiday weekend. You will be paying the lowest Labor Day gas prices since 2004. The national average for regular unleaded is $2.43 a gallon that’s closer to 2.22 in the Houston area.

                AAA  expects more than 30 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home now- Monday.
