Teen killed in shooting in southwest Houston

A teen was killed in a shooting in southwest Houston on Tuesday night.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex on Fuqua just before 7:20 p.m. The teen was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are still trying to identify the boy.

A resident said he heard multiple gunshots, but the suspects had fled by the time he went outside. The man said he helped administer CPR until responders arrived.

HPD Homicide detectives are investigating. Police say a pellet gun was found at the scene, but investigators are not sure who was in possession of the gun. Investigators also found multiple casing at the scene.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted about the shooting saying, "This senseless death should make all Houstonians angry and all of us need to stand together against gun violence. Although we’ve made great strides, we can’t maximize safety without a resolute commitment to our families, neighbors & all crime victims. #RelationalPolicing"
