Shred Day Houston
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Identity theft is one of the biggest problems consumers face.
But there are ways to avoid having a crook steal your personal information.
J. Downey Bridgwater, president of Comerica Bank, says he knows firsthand how horrible it is when your identity is stolen. It happened to him. That's why Comerica, along with Iron Mountain Incorporated and FOX 26 are sponsoring Houston's Fifth annual Shred Day.
All you have to do is drive your financial and personal documents to Comerica Bank's Mangum Bank Center at 2201 Mangum Road. They'll start shredding at 8 am and will keep at it until 4 pm. All the paper shredded will be turned into pulp for recycling.
People are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the The Houston Food bank.
