Police in San Antonio say one person was killed and six injured in a shooting at Rolling Oaks Mall.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus called the shooting a "robbery gone really, really bad."

"There were two individuals that robbed a Kay Jewelers store. They exited the store ran to the left and they encountered two citizens who tried to intervene. One of those citizens was shot by the suspect. The other suspect tried to intervene, had a concealed carry license, and he shot the suspect," McManus said.

The good Samaritan who was shot by the suspect, died from his wounds, McManus said. He said six other people were injured when the other suspect ran through the mall in the other direction, firing as he went.

The mall is still on lock down. The suspect who was shot is in custody and the other suspect escaped.
