Rosenberg police investigate house fire after body found

ROSENBERG, Texas - Rosenberg police are investigating a suspicious house fire after a body is found inside.

According to Rosenberg police, shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to assist the fire department for a structure fire located at a residence in the 5100 block of Cotter Lane.

Police began a criminal investigation after firefighters discovered the deceased victim inside the residence.

Officials  say circumstances surrounding the scene appeared suspicious but did not go into details.

Investigators were initially searching for a dark blue 2008 Chevrolet Impala, which is related to the investigation, however that vehicle has since been located.
