Pearland mother pleads guilty in drowning deaths of twin daughters

PEARLAND - Barbara Russo has pleaded guilty to two counts of third degree felony, criminally negligent homicide in the drowning deaths of her 14-month-old twin daughters.

Savannah Russo and Sabrina Russo died February, 2015 in Pearland.

The investigation revealed that the defendant Barbara Russo placed her twin daughters in a deep bathtub with the water running and left them unattended for an extended length of time resulting in the drowning deaths of the children.

Barbara Russo was sentenced to 6 years in prison with an affirmative finding that water was used as a deadly weapon on both counts of criminally negligent homicide.
