Pasadena police interviewing 'person of interest' in sexual assault case

Pasadena police say a tip led detectives to a green Ford Mustang similar to the one used in a sexual assault earlier this week, and a person of interest is being interviewed.

Police say a man in a green Ford Mustang followed a woman home from a gym in Pasadena on May 14, made her drive to another location, and sexually assaulted her. The police department released video of the green Mustang and asked the public for help locating it and the driver.

According to investigators, a Crime Stoppers tip indicated that a Mustang similar to the one police were looking for was parked in Houston. Police say officers watching the residence saw a man inside of the car and was contacted by officers when he left the residence on a bike.

Pasadena police say the man is considered a person of interest and is being interviewed by detectives.

No charges have been filed in the case at this time.
