Owner of dog stolen in Houston prays for Christmas miracle

"I'll do anything you want. I just want my baby back," said Jennie Kahanek. "It's a horrible time of the year to have your heart ripped out."

You can see the pain in the 74-year-old widow's eyes.

She's had her nine-and-a-half-year-old Australian Shepherd "Cody" since she was a six-and-a-half-week-old puppy.

Kahanek can't stop wondering where her constant companion could be.

"It hurts to open the door because my best friend's not there," Kahanek said.

After taking Cody for a walk at T.C. Jester Park last Sunday, Kahanek ran into Lowes at 610 and Ella. She was only in the store for a few minutes.

"It's that shock when your truck isn't there," she said.

Two men can be seen on surveillance video driving off in the white 2003 Ram pickup truck.

Kahanek doesn't care if she ever sees the truck again, she just wants Cody back.

"I don't care about the truck I'm offering a reward  of $1,000. I don't care if they stole the truck. I will give you the money if you just give me my dog," Kahanek said.
