Officer resigns, arrested for invasive visual recording

PEARLAND, Texas (FOX 26) - Following his arrest on alleged invasive visual recording, a former Pearland Police Department sergeant has resigned and was taken into custody.

Following an investigation, police executed an arrest warrant for former Pearland sergeant in patrol Jon Matherne on Wednesday. He served as an officer since 1996, 

Matherne, 52, was taken to Brazoria County Jail where his bond was set at $3,000. Pearland PD was notified of the state jail felony charge on Aug. 22 and Matherne subsequently resigned.

The incident remains under investigation.
