Houston crash: Driver dies in rollover wreck on North Freeway

According to police, witnesses say two vehicles were racing on the freeway when one of the drivers lost control

A driver has died after losing control of his vehicle near the North Freeway on Friday night, according to Houston police.

What we know:

The accident was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 7800 block of the North Freeway service road.

According to a police sergeant at the scene, witnesses said two drivers were racing in the northbound lanes of the freeway, then took the exit onto West Gulf Bank Road. 

One of the drivers allegedly lost control after the vehicle hit a curve, causing it to flip.

The driver was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the other driver stayed at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

What we don't know:

The deceased driver has not been identified. 

No charges have been filed at this time.
