Dunwoody Police Monday released a new picture of a thief who smashed a display case at a jewelry store and took off with diamonds.

Police said the man in the surveillance photo walked into the Jared, Gallery of Jewelry on the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road with a hammer in his pants last Thursday.

The footage shows the man pulling out the hammer and smashing the display case that held loose diamonds.

Police said the suspect grabbed three or four diamonds, then ran out to the parking lot to hand them over to another suspect.

The suspect is described by police as a man between the age of 20 to 25, around 5-feet-11-inches tall with a distinct dark blemish on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, gray pants with a white stripe, white shoes, and a black ball cap.

This is a Crime Stoppers case and there is a $2,000 reward for information.
