Neighbors pounded on doors, helping rescue people from Crosby fire

Neighbors rushed to the rescue when a fire erupted in Crosby, engulfing an office building and a residential building.  Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 4:30 am to discover a massive fire spreading a tthe Crosby Plaza Apartments on FM 2100.  According to initial reports, an office, laundromat and community center have been heavily damaged.  A neighbor believes that the fire may have started in the laundry room.

According to firefighters, neighbors knocked on doors to alert residents as the fire engulfed the apartments.  One resident and local hero named Joe actually bolted door to door to help awaken neighbors to the flames.
